The Full Story
My daughter was getting married and had a date set and the perfect dress bought. However, the perfect dress was bought a year prior to the wedding. A lot can change in a year - like wedding themes and waistlines. She had the dress altered but it just didn't fit like she wanted it to. Two weeks before the wedding she decided that it just wasn't the dress for her. Mom to the rescue - get it in the car and lets go find the perfect dress. Well, mom called several bridal shops in two states and couldn't get an appointment as they were all booked. We called one last place and they were booked as well. However, the AMAZING manager said if you can come now, I will work with you to find a dress even though I normally don't do that. She brought us in the bridal suite and started gathering various dresses. They were all beautiful and looked amazing on my daughter. But none of them brought the wow factor or tears. After SEVERAL failed attempts, she pulls one last dress of the rack and holds it up - still on the hanger. My daughter said "No thank you". The manager said "Just please trust me". So, she tries it on - comes out of the dressing room and stands on the pedestal in front of the wall size mirror. The tears started rolling and she said YES TO THE DRESS!
The day started with her being a Bridezilla. Not in an ugly attitude way - just a stressed way as she didn't have a dress to walk down the aisle in. The manager of this store turned her from a Bridezilla into a Bride. It was nothing short of amazing. She said - Mom, I am so happy. I finally feel like a bride and cannot wait to marry my soulmate and best friend in this dress.
A few days later, I was just thinking of the small fortune that it cost me for her to "finally feel like a bride". Every aspect of a wedding is equally important - but the dress. The dress has to be perfect. But why does it have to take my life savings? I thought if we could have rented the dress, we could have put more money towards the other aspects of the wedding or even the honeymoon.
So this is how Bridezilla to Bride was born. I wanted to give other women the chance to have their dream dress but not break the bank.
